About me

Hello! *waves*

I’m Katy. Mama to two-year-old Sonny Jim. Wife to newspaper editor Gary. We live in Leigh-on-Sea, in Essex.

As well as writing this lifestyle/mummy-life blog, I’m a columnist and writer for Essex’s daily newspaper, the Echo. I also write for Essex Living magazine. I’m a member of the Mumsnet Bloggers Network (and have been named a Mumsnet blogger of the day!) and a Tots 100 UK parent blogger too.

I’ve been a journalist since I was 18 and in that time I’ve written for Fabulous magazine, the Lady magazine, News of the World, the Evening Standard, Hairflair & Beauty and Ford News, plus rather a lot of websites.

Want to get in touch? Have something you’d like me to write or edit for you? Email me at: whatkatydidUK@gmail.com

And finally, blog bits to note:
Sponsored posts – which I have been paid to write – will always be clearly marked. But I will never accept payment for posting something which I don’t believe in.
Gifting – sometimes I am lucky enough to be gifted an item about which I’m writing. Again, this will always be stated on the post. And again, I only write about things I actually like.

  1. Hi Love the article in the echo about Mums and Toddlers. We run one on a Tuesday and Thursday morning from 9.30 till 11.30 and follow that with lunch for anyone who want to come. Tuesday food is free and Thursday we put a small cost on it. You are right when you say its a God end as many of our mums are childminders, nannies or grandparents who really appreciate the support.
