Today is her Maj’s 89th birthday (very many happy returns Ma’am!) and it’s a well know fact that her favourite tipple is Dubonnet (which BTW, was developed in 1846 to encourage French Legionnaires to drink quinine for malaria!)

The Queen Mother was another fan – she liked a Dubonnet and gin with a slice of lemon under the ice.
Personally I think today’s birthday celebrations give us the perfect excuse to enjoy a tipple or two.
And thinking of drinking a Dubonnet and gin has got me musing about the somewhat shoddy state of my glassesware.
And this rather lovely tumbler I think is almost for for a queen…
